The Story of

THEMBEKILE

Through functional, simple and beautiful design, we produce organisational tools that inspire, educate and empower, integrating affirmations and mindfulness into everyday life.

Founded by Tshegofatso Senne in 2017, Thembekile Stationery is named after their mother. A name that means 'the. trusted one'. We are a Black- and queer-led small business that produces in small batches, rather than over-producing.

Our mission is as follows:

Inspiring Action

Aiding those who want to do to not only plan for the future, but to act on it consciously and successfully.

Nurturing creativity

Striking and beautiful visuals thoughtfully created to encourage you to enjoy the act of realising your potential.

Aiding holistically

More than a to do list, allowing you to plan, act and create while also taking care of your physical and mental health.

Thembekile Stationery is made for those who are ever-evolving and determined to live and plan for their best life. We aim to expand into a range of products including various planner options, plain notebooks, colouring books and writing tools.

Thembekile Stationery.  Not just a pretty page.

About the founder

Tshegofatso Senne is a Black, genderqueer feminist who does the most. Much of their work is rooted in pleasure, community, healing and dreaming. They write, research and speak on issues concerning feminism, sexual and reproductive health and pleasure, consent, rape culture, healing, race, intersectional social justice and pop culture. They run a community platform, Hedone, which brings people together to explore and understand the power of pleasure in every part of our lives. They work with young people across the country, focusing on sexual health, pleasure, consent and rape culture as well as kink and BDSM. Their TEDx talk ‘Reimagining BDSM’ takes a look at the tenderness and love that reveals itself in a lifestyle often only seen through an extreme lens.
